Using Eco-Friendly Means to control Insects

With the approach of spring and summer, many population begin to worry about insect-proofing their house.  Nobody likes to see bugs in their home and many of us use some pretty harsh methods to keep them out.  Those bugs that do carry on to make it in are ordinarily fast put to death instead of being led out of the house or left alone.

One thing that most of us do each year is have our house sprayed with some sort of chemicals that keep the insects outside.  This is ordinarily pretty effective, but is also not the healthiest or most eco-friendly way to combat the insect problem.  Just like you can still bring home groceries with reusable shopping bags without having the negative environmental problems that plastic bags create, so too can you control you insect problems with "green" methods.

The first step we can all take is to keep our house tidy.  Most bugs come in to our homes in search of food, not because they want to hang out with us.  retention your cupboards, counter tops, and floors free from crumbs and other food debris will go a long way in attracting fewer bugs.  And, when possible, store opened packages in airtight, reusable containers.

However, no matter how clean you keep your house, chances are that some bugs will still make their way inside, especially in positive geographic regions of the country.  This does not mean that you have to resort to chemicals, though, to keep them out.  There are a amount of eco-friendly ways to keep the bugs out.  For example, baby powder and cinnamon work well in retention ant populations at bay.  simply lining the area that you consideration the ants advent from with cinnamon will keep them away.  If you want to kill them, use baby powder.  They will carry it back to their colony where it will kill them all.

The above strategies will work well indoors, but what about outside?  If you want to keep pesky bugs out of your backyard so you can enjoy it, there are some eco-friendly alternatives.  First, try to take benefit of natural order and get some predators to roam your yard for you.  Lady bugs, preying mantis, lizards, geckos, birds, and bats are all your allies in your fight against insects.  If you don't have any of these predators simply attracted to your yard, check your local organery shops.  Sometimes they stock predatory creatures that you can add to your organery to safe it for you.  Of course, don't forget to shop with your reusable bags!

Installing a bird house or bird bath in your yard will do well to keep adequate birds in the area.  And, even though bats have a bad reputation, they are one of the best animals you will ever find at controlling mosquito populations.  You can buy a bat house and hang in a tree in your yard and look send to noticing a nice decline in the mosquito population in your area.

productive Ways to Keep Insects Under operate naturally While Working in the Blueberry Patch

Introduction

In the summer season there is a need to avoid the stings, bites and dissatisfaction of summer insects. This summer, don't use cans of sprays that comprise Deet repellent and other chemicals instead use a natural way to repel the annoying insects. There is concern by some people about using market chemical repellents because of possible condition implications. Using a natural prophylactic is a good alternative way of avoiding artificial chemical insect repellents

The carbon dioxide given off by humans often attracts Mosquitoes and ticks. Also the fragrance from lotions on us may draw some insects.

Ticks, mosquitoes, flies, and ants are primarily the insects people want to avoid. Ticks are an leading insect to avoid because of the possibility of getting lime disease. The best way to keep from getting Lyme disease is to keep away from areas in which ticks are common. But if you must be outside to pick blueberries or work in the blueberry patch wear a hat and light-colored clothes (to aid you in seeing a tick before it can find your skin), and insert your shirt into your pants and put your pants into your socks. You should cover as much of your skin as possible instead of spraying yourself with insect repellant. Be especially attentive if you live (or visit) where Lyme disease is often caught. The Northeast part of the United States has the most cases of lime disease.

Keep yourself free of fleas.

Make your own version of a spray using natural ingredients to control fleas. You can originate an eco-friendly blend that will help keep fleas away. Make a solution by mixing one part vinegar or lemon juice to five parts water.

Marigolds and Basic H can also be used to repel numerous insects. Marigolds can be planted colse to a garden, patio or in the area of blueberry plants and give off a fragrance that bugs and flying insects do not like. Basic H is nontoxic and can be applied to skin to repel biting and stinging insects., Basic H is a Shaklee goods used as a safe non toxic cleaner.

Garlic an productive natural insect repellent

Garlic can be used as a useful, mosquito repellent. There are a number of natural products that are very productive at repelling mosquitoes.Garlic is one of the most beneficial of these products, and one that is quite easy to obtain. To make this first peel and mash the garlic, than in a using a fine strainer to press out the juice. Instead of mashing manually you can put the cloves in a food blender to cut them up into fine pieces. Mix the garlic juice using a ratio of five parts water to one part garlic juice.

These insects can be controlled by using this mixture. Put the resulting blend in a spray bottle and spray evenly over uncovered parts of your body. This natural repellent can provide five to six hours of defense against insects.

A composition of Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil half and half with rubbing alcohol or basic H is an productive mosquito repellent. The insects do not like the smell of this blend and will keep away from it. Lemon grass is also an productive insect repellent.

If you find a tick on you or your children get rid of the tick on the body using tweezers to take off the tick. Be sure to take hold of the tick as close to your skin as possible and keep a steady pressure on it. When it is removed flush the tick or put it in alcohol. This will kill the tick immediately. Burning a tick will also kill it but if ready use rubbing alcohol. Afterwards wash the area with warm soap and water.

Using birds to help control insects

Another way to help control ticks, insects and flies is to have, ducks, guinea fowl and chickens run loose on the property.

Muscovy ducks help control flies, Guinea fowl can help control ticks and other harmful bugs and Chickens will not control insect populations but can help sacrifice their levels.

Our Media Is Terribly Exposed To The Inefficiencies Of The Advertising Industry!

The ample earnings generated by the broadcast and cable up front is more a ensue of long-standing process than logic. The billions of dollars/pounds/yen generated for the broadcast and cable networks persist on this imprecise custom of guaranteeing a reach of demographic viewers. Nielsen Co. And others are struggling to improve their techniques for measuring audiences for this medium at a time when television programming is extended to more digital platforms than ever before, and a click of a computer mouse can render a frighteningly detailed snapshot of a user.

The smart advertisers naturally doesn't care if frequent YouTube visitors watch less television because they plan to be on whatever media platform best facilitates their connection with target consumers at a cost-effective price. How much and how fast advertisers shift their spending colse to from television to interactive media platforms is the billion dollar question--a perturbing riposte to which will give way to a slew of new advertising business models to go around.

The nagging dichotomy between advertising form, function and price on former Tv and on the Internet is in the process of rendering a new hybrid proper to expand over all media platforms.

The huge sums broadcasters pay to land programs and presenters are an indication of the feebleness of the media. For example Channel Five paid £300m over 10 years to land the Australian soap "Neighbours" and poached newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky from the Bbc. And the very source that funds such indiscriminate purchasing behavior is advertising. And Customers are growing increasingly disenchanted with their overall television caress and dislike Tv advertising more than whatever else on the box, agreeing to a recent survey.

Given the vast amounts of advertising monies sloshing colse to it is no wonder that dishonest practices and corruption are rife within all these industries. And, until the whole inefficient edifice collapses (which it truly will) you can bet that Top-Down-Management will dream up even more dishonest tricks. Because for business the lowest line comes first...the customer can wait!

The rather old fashioned notion that the Customers deserve honesty is given short shrift these days.

"Hamilton roped into his sponsor's stunt: is this what you call the pits?" is the headline in the Times. In the pantheon of ridiculous publicity stunts it may rate among the greatest. Lewis Hamilton was required to take on the role of the Greek God Apollo in the sacking of Troy in one of the sport's more bizarre moments.

Vodafone is spending £300 million over five years in maintain of Hamilton's recipe One team who, in turn is set to earn £75 million over the next five years.

Now this nearly £400 million is all sponsorship money (another word for advertising) and is just one example as to just how utterly futile and wasteful this advertising business has become. There is no doubt, the inmates are running the asylum!

And the corruption within the Tv commerce is astonishing, to say the least. "Bbc keeps children in need of cash for itself" is the most recent in a long line of dishonest practices practiced by the Bbc and market Tv.

And, either you like it or not the root cause is the insane chase of ratings, ratings demanded by the advertising industry.

In someone else hammer blow to Tv's reputation, the Bbc has been ordered by its own ruling body, the Bbc Trust, to apologize for the scandal on air.

News of this limited racket came 24 hours after Itv was fined £5.7 million for conning £8 million from telephone voters to top-rated shows. It also emerged that a British Comedy Award for presenters Ant and Dec had been "fixed"

The real irony here is that it is all so meaningless, despite the rush to increase ratings, viewers are just not taking delivery of all those offensive Tv market messages, when the break comes on they do a whole host of other activities!

But then the greatest dishonesty is the fact that advertising is totally unaccountable with no evidence that "advertising works". So all this ripping off of the viewers is a total waste of time, the children in need could have received their cash and the viewers need not have paid out £8 million in telephone rip offs!

I have received requests for more facts about my book "Television killed advertising". This book will demonstrate the inefficiencies of the advertising commerce which are self-perpetuating. It also demonstrates that there has been a far more sufficient means of marketing communication, which the advertising commerce has deliberately suppressed.

"Television killed advertising" is due to be published end of September 2008.
